We are a growing animal hospital that is conveniently located off I-40 in Burlington N.C. Plaza Veterinary Hospital is proud to have served the Burlington community for over 40 years.
Job description:
-Veterinary assistants will be expected to do many daily tasks, such as feeding, weighing, and taking the temperature of animals. Other routine duties include giving medication, cleaning cages, or providing nursing care before and after surgery or other medical procedures. Specific job duties are as followed: Monitor and care for animals after surgery Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and examining and operating rooms Help provide emergency first aid to sick or injured animals Give medication or immunizations that veterinarians prescribe Do routine laboratory tests and taking x-rays Feed and bathe animals Checking in rooms and talking with clients about patient's past medical history Collect samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for testing -Applicants will be expected to work 40 hour work weeks with no weekends. Usual schedule is working four 10 hour shifts (can be discussed) -Applicants must be able to work in a fast paced physical environment. -One year of experience preferred but not required.Job Types:
