The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, with experience in various veterinary settings. This role involves assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during examinations and treatments. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and surgeries. Provide proper restraint for animals during examinations and treatments. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or technician. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms. Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any changes to the veterinary staff. Assist with laboratory procedures, including sample collection and processing. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Handle front desk duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing records. Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques during procedures. Requirements Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. Experience with animal handling, restraint techniques, and medication administration. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with equine care is a plus but not mandatory. A passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
