We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team as a part-time associate (with potential to move to full time). As a Veterinary Assistant or Technician, you will assist the veterinarians in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced veterinary clinic and make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
• Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
• Prepare animals for surgery, including prepping surgical sites and monitoring anesthesia
• Monitor vital signs of animals during procedures and recovery
• Provide post-operative care and administer appropriate medications
• Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
• Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care, medication administration, and post-operative instructions Preferred experience/Skills
• 1+ years of previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician required for this position. Please do not apply if you do not have this experience or your application will immediately be rejected.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
• Ability to handle animals with care, compassion, and patience
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift 40-50lb
• Able to be down on the floor with patients when needed
• Punctual, reliable, coachable, and has a good work ethic
• Takes initiative and moves with a sense of urgency when needed
• Ability to take and follow directions as well as retain information
