Although you do not have to be registered (CVT,LVT,RVT), it is an added bonus. The right candidate must be enthusiastic, motivated, a quick learner and a good communicator. The right candidate must have at least 1 year of experience with a surgical background. Falls Village Veterinary Hospital has been providing veterinary care to the Raleigh Community since 1974. Our hospital is a privately owned general practice with 4 full-time doctors on staff. We pride ourselves on comprehensive, patient-centered, and innovative health care of the highest quality. We utilize Cornerstone as our Practice Management Software, Idexx in-house diagnostic equipment (Procyte, Catalyst, Sedivue, Digital Cytology, Snap Pro, Coag), Vscan Air Ultrasound, Dental Radiographs (Progeny) and Digital Radiogaphs (PACS-Idexx). Falls Village Veterinary Hospital also regularly participates in clinical trials, this sets us apart from other veterinary clinics in the area. In addition to standard continuing education to keep us cutting-edge in veterinary medicine, we've completed accredited courses targeting the reduction of fear and anxiety in our dog and cat patients. Website www.raleighncvet.com Qualifications A minimum of at least 1 year of Veterinary Technician-Assistant experience is required Experience with assisting, monitoring and recovering sedated-surgical patients Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy Familiarity with pet care practices like routine preventions and vaccines Experience with venipuncture Experience with using Idexx and Cornerstone is a plus but not required Duties include, but are not limited to: Assisting doctors in rooms with all aspects of client and patient care Assisting with surgical procedures and dental cleanings Monitoring and recovering sedated patients Preparing medications both in house and through our online pharmacy for patients Running in house blood work, submission of samples to external labs Computer entry of medical records Obtaining and processing samples such as cytology slides, blood work, urinalysis, etc Obtaining digital whole body and dental radiographs Caring for hospitalized patients Canine/Feline low stress restraint/handling General customer care Hours 10hr shifts (7am-6pm, with 1hr lunch break) 4 day work week 5hr Saturday shift (7am-12pm) once to twice a month

$16.00+ per hour according to skills and experience
