Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and treatment areas following aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Collect medical samples such as blood, urine, or fecal matter for laboratory testing, ensuring proper handling and documentation. Prepare exam and treatment rooms, and keep clinical areas stocked, clean and ready. Maintain accurate veterinary records using veterinary software systems; document treatments, medications, and client communications clearly. Communicate effectively with clients at the front desk regarding pet care instructions, appointment scheduling, and follow-up needs. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent 1 year or more of veterinary or clinical animal care experience preferred Surgical or dental experience is a plus Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and move throughout a full shift Reliable and calm under pressure Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and medical-surgical procedures. Proficiency in veterinary software applications and Microsoft Office tools for record keeping and communication. Hands-on experience with animal handling, dog handling, and animal restraint techniques. Familiarity with laboratory procedures, drug regulations (DEA), USDA regulations, and aseptic techniques. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting animals, standing for extended periods, and performing animal restraint safely. Experience with companion animal medicine is a plus but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential. $12.00 - $19.75 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
