Then look no more, we are looking for a part-time or full-time veterinary assistant at Woodsdale Animal Hospital. In this role you will:

Obtain and accurately record patient's histories, vital signs, and treatment information. Provide safe, compassionate, and confident patient handling and restraint. Assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, urgent care cases and surgeries. Collect blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples. Perform laboratory testing and assisting with interpretation and preparation of diagnostic results. Assisting with radiology and other diagnostic imaging while following appropriate safety protocols. Administering medications, vaccines, fluids, and other treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Communicating professionally and compassionately with clients regarding patient care and treatment instructions. Maintaining thorough and accurate medical records. Place IV catheters, monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery and assisting with post-operative care. Assisting with surgical and dental procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring. Maintaining clean, organized treatment and surgical areas and following appropriate infection-control and aseptic protocols. To be successful in this role you will need to: Treat every patient as if they were their own. Take pride in doing things well. Possess strong organizational skills Be dependable and willing to jumping in wherever needed to keep the hospital running smoothly — because veterinary medicine is a team sport! Enjoy working individually and collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service team members to provide a positive experience for every patient and client. Communicate openly and respectfully. Handle the challenges and occasional chaos that come with veterinary medicine. Bring a positive attitude to work each day. On-the-job training Work schedule:

Monday-Friday

• 40 hours per week
• Working 4 of the 5 days
• divided into four 10 hour shifts with 1 hour lunch break. Weekends
• every other weekend short boarding shift
• Usually 30 mins to 90mins in the AM and PM
• involves taking care of boarded patients.
