The ideal candidate will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality animal care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about animal health and welfare to gain valuable experience in a professional veterinary setting. Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff Administer medications and vaccines accurately following veterinary instructions Handle animals of various species, including dogs, cats, and equines, demonstrating proper animal handling techniques Support kennel duties such as cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals' behavior and health status Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, surgical suites, and kennels using aseptic techniques Assist with laboratory procedures such as sample collection, processing, and basic testing Support front desk activities including client communication, appointment scheduling, and record keeping Educate pet owners on pet care, medication administration, and post-treatment instructions Maintain detailed knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and medical procedures to assist effectively Experience Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred Veterinary assistant experience highly desirable Experience with animal restraint, medication administration, and laboratory procedures is advantageous Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices and pet care protocols is a plus Knowledge of equine handling or large animal care is beneficial but not required Prior veterinary clinic experience demonstrating strong animal handling skills and understanding of veterinary terminology is preferred This position requires a compassionate attitude towards animals and clients, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be committed to ongoing learning in veterinary medicine to provide the best possible care for our patients.
