This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals and takes pride in providing excellent care while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment. As a Veterinary Kennel Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our doctors and technicians by ensuring our patients are comfortable and our hospital operates efficiently. This is a physically active, hands-on position in a fast-paced veterinary hospital. Responsibilities Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding dogs and cats. Feed patients according to doctor instructions and ensure fresh water is always available. Walk dogs and provide appropriate exercise and enrichment. Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels, cages, runs, treatment areas, and hospital facilities. Monitor patients for changes in appetite, behavior, or overall condition and report concerns to the veterinary team. Safely handle and restrain animals under the direction of doctors and technicians. Assist with patient transport throughout the hospital. Perform laundry, dishes, stocking, trash removal, and other general housekeeping duties. Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and common spaces clean and well stocked. Follow all hospital safety, sanitation, and infection-control protocols. Assist the veterinary team with additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required. Veterinary, kennel, boarding, daycare, or shelter experience is a plus. Comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player. Excellent reliability, punctuality, and work ethic. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods. Comfortable performing cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the day. Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who understands that caring for animals involves much more than playing with pets.
