Job Description

Devotion Veterinary Care is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our team in Pine Brook, NJ. Our ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working with animals and has a positive, can-do attitude.
Job Description:
Provide patient care under the direction of the veterinarian Monitoring anesthesia and assisting in routine surgical and non-surgical procedures on companion animals Bathe, and clean animals Obtain signatures on medical records and ensure they are in a legible and legal form Administer vaccines, medications, or treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian Take radiographs both intraoral and body Administer subcutaneous fluids, vaccinations, treatments, and other therapies (ear cleanings, nail trims) as directed by the veterinarian Provide comfort for animals during procedures Perform surgical site dressings (i.e., bandages) Cleaning of the hospital premises Assist the veterinarian with handling and caring for animals during emergencies (i.e., neuter surgery, neutering, etc.) Perform other duties as assigned by the veterinarian (i.e., medication reminders, etc.) Interacting with clients for the purposes of education and care
Requirements:
Must provide great customer service - our clientele is like family, and we treat them as such! Formal veterinary technology program graduates or credentialed technicians preferred Must be willing to perform reception duties as all staff in clinic are cross-trained (scheduling appointments, receipting out clients, fielding phone calls, monitoring online pharmacy requests, etc) Must work well with others as a team
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 per week

Experience:
Veterinary clinic: 1 year (Required) Veterinary assistant: 1 year (Required) Job-related location requirement: Candidates must be within a 25-mile radius.
