Compensation:

$17.75 - $23/hr . based on experience

Full Time Wednesday - Saturday 8:00am - 6:00pm A Diagnostic Imaging Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and technicians by helping care for animals and keeping the hospital running smoothly. They handle tasks such as restraining pets during exams, feeding and exercising patients, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and preparing treatment areas. Veterinary assistants also monitor animals, assist with basic sample collection, stock supplies, maintain records, and provide friendly support to clients. Their role is essential in ensuring animals receive proper care and the veterinary team can work efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Provide support to all Diagnostic Imaging departments as needed. Remain accessible and respond to requests for assistance throughout the hospital. Assist with patient care, animal restraint, treatments, diagnostics, ultrasound and radiographs. Perform basic laboratory duties, including running in-house tests and submitting samples. Communicate effectively with clients, doctors, and hospital staff. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. AVA certification or veterinary assistant program completion preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills required. One year of experience working as a veterinary assistant in a busy Urgent care or ER/Specialty hospital preferred Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. Experience handling a variety of patient species, including exotics, is a plus. Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) required. Why Assistants Choose RBVH?
