Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our dynamic veterinary team. Responsibilities Assist with animal handling, restraint, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations, treatments, and procedures Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment through regular cleaning and disinfecting practices Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with tasks such as medication administration, IV insertion, animal catheterization, and surgery prep Record keeping of patient information, treatment details, and daily activity logs accurately and efficiently Monitor animal behavior and welfare, providing appropriate care to promote health and well-being Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions and answer basic questions about animal needs Assist with intake and discharge procedures at the front desk, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records Skills Previous kennel experience or animal handling background required Veterinary clinic experience including knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal husbandry practices Ability to handle dogs, cats, and other small animals safely using proper restraint techniques Experience with medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and surgery support is a plus Strong understanding of animal behavior, physiology, anatomy, and welfare principles Excellent record keeping skills for maintaining accurate patient files and treatment logs Ability to communicate clearly with clients while demonstrating professionalism and empathy Join us in creating a caring environment where animals receive exceptional attention while gaining valuable veterinary experience.
