About Us Join our friendly, modern companion animal hospital in Carson City! We're seeking a motivated Entry-Level Veterinary Assistant to join our team. No prior veterinary experience is required—just a passion for animals, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude. Shift Schedule Opening:
7:15 AM - 4:30
PM, Monday-Friday Closing:
9:30 AM - Close (~6:30 PM Mon-Thurs | ~5:30 PM Fri) Occasional 10-hour shifts as scheduled Applicants must be available to rotate through all shifts What You'll Be Doing Assist veterinarians and staff with patient care Safely handle and restrain pets of all sizes and temperaments Help prepare treatment areas and maintain cleanliness and organization Learn to assist with procedures, vaccinations, and lab sample collection Accurately update patient records Educate clients under supervision on basic pet care Requirements High school diploma or GED (required) Available Monday-Friday only (no nights, weekends, or holidays) Reliable commute to Carson City, NV, or ability to relocate Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions Preferred (Optional) Experience in 4-H, FFA, or other animal-related programs Volunteer or paid experience caring for animals Strong communication skills and positive attitude Benefits Weekday-only schedule for work-life balance Starting pay of $15/hour with growth potential Comprehensive benefits package: health, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and pet care discount Collaborative and supportive team culture Opportunities for hands-on learning and skill development
