Job Description
We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to help care for our clients pets and to support our Veterinarians. You'll play an important role in bringing comfort to our furry patients and ensuring the smooth running of our facility. We'll rely on you to assist the Veterinarian in examinations and treatments so you will need the ability to hold them properly - that's one of the most important Vet Assistant job requirements. The assistant position also includes running lab tests, feeding, medicating and bathing animals, as well as the readiness to care for injured or scared animals. If you're quick on your feet, have patience and a love of animals we'd like to meet you. Responsibilities Feed, bathe and weigh animals Clean cages Clean examination tables and rooms Restrain animals during examinations and vaccinations Soothe upset or frightened animals Observe animal behavior and health conditions and report to the Vet Help in cases of emergencies Skills Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals Excellent communication skills Patient and caring personality Ability to follow instructions properly Comfortable being around animals Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g. lift up to 30 lbs) '
