Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our dynamic veterinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of veterinary administrative support experience, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and a thorough understanding of veterinary terminology and clinic operations. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for clients and their pets, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing front desk responsibilities. Your expertise in medical collections, client communication, and veterinary software will be essential to providing seamless support for both our staff and clients. Duties Greet clients and their pets warmly, providing exceptional customer service and facilitating smooth check-in and check-out processes. Manage appointment scheduling using veterinary software, coordinating with veterinary staff to optimize daily clinic operations. Handle medical billing and collections accurately, ensuring compliance with insurance protocols and payment policies. Maintain detailed records of patient visits, treatments, and procedures in accordance with veterinary terminology and clinic standards. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, laboratory documentation, and inventory management of supplies. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, follow-up appointments, and treatment plans while adhering to confidentiality standards. Ensure compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines related to medication handling and record keeping. Maintain a clean, organized front desk area that reflects the professionalism of the clinic at all times. Experience Minimum of two years' experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital environment. Proficiency in veterinary software systems for scheduling, record-keeping, and billing purposes. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine. Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary diagnostics. Knowledge of animal anatomy, animal husbandry practices, and exotic experience is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds in a professional manner. Competence in Microsoft Office applications for administrative tasks is preferred.
