Job Description

Good Ground Animal Hospital is a family oriented, full service small animal Veterinary Hospital and Wellness Center. We offer a wide range of services from routine vaccines, surgery, laser therapy, ultrasound, acupuncture, digital radiography and more. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership & pet health awareness. Good Ground Animal Hospital's skilled veterinarians and friendly staff treat our patients with high quality veterinary care and are looking for a new Veterinary Assistant to join our enthusiastic and diligent veterinary team!
  • Requirements:
  • Must have excellent communication & customer service skills with attentiveness to client needs in a professional and inviting manner.
  • To be able to work individually or as a team in a fast paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Must be available for multiple shifts including Monday-Saturday. Approximately 35+ hours a week.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the Doctor or Technician in restraining all patients for medical procedures and services. Must be comfortable with restraining cats, dogs and other small animals.
  • Assisting with laboratory procedures, radiology, and pharmacy.
  • Provide a clean and healthy environment for the animals being treated or hospitalized at our hospital. This does include exercising animals, making sure there is food/water available, cleaning cages/kennels, maintaining laundry, cleaning the exam rooms and treatment area, stocking inventory, vacuuming, and mopping, sterilizing surgical equipment, etc.
  • Enter records into Shepherd software program including all services or treatments for Doctor or Technician and enter in updates on Patient's status while hospitalized in the hospital.
Physical Requirements:
This job is physically active and requires frequent bending and standing for long periods of time. It requires routine lifting and restraining animals. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
