Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant/Technician and play a vital role in delivering exceptional animal care! This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with animals, support veterinarians, and ensure the highest standards of pet health and well-being. Whether assisting with examinations, performing laboratory tests, or handling pet grooming, you will be at the forefront of compassionate veterinary service. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing animals and equipment Handle animal restraint and restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff during procedures Perform laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety Conduct animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and monitoring health status Support pet care activities including grooming, pet grooming, administering medications, and providing comfort to hospitalized animals Take diagnostic X-rays and assist with interpreting basic imaging results under supervision Manage animal catheterization, IV placement, and other critical care procedures with precision and care Handle dog training exercises and assist in behavioral assessments when needed Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and patient progress Requirements Previous kennel experience or animal handling experience preferred but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is essential Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, and aseptic techniques highly desirable Ability to handle diverse animals including dogs, cats, and equines with confidence and compassion Strong understanding of pet care routines such as grooming, feeding, and medication administration Excellent animal restraint skills combined with patience and gentle handling techniques Familiarity with dog training methods and pet grooming practices is a plus Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and educating pet owners Join us in making a positive impact on animal health! $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
