Position Summary:

We are seeking experienced per-diem Veterinary Assistants to support our team on an as-needed basis , including both weekday and weekend shifts. This role is ideal for skilled veterinary professionals looking for a flexible schedule and the opportunity to contribute to a growing, high-quality practice. As a per-diem VA, you will work closely with veterinarians and licensed technicians to support appointments, diagnostics, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians during physical exams, diagnostics, and minor procedures Restrain animals safely and compassionately using low-stress handling techniques Collect and process laboratory samples (fecal, urine, blood) Clean, prep, and restock exam and treatment areas Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to smooth patient flow Collaborate across departments to support daily clinic operations Participate in cross-training to support a flexible team structure

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year experience as a veterinary assistant or similar support role Proficient in safe animal handling and restraint Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused Strong communication and client service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Fluency in Spanish Interest or experience in clinic-related social media content Familiarity with cloud-based practice management software (e.g. Vetspire) Fear Free or Low-Stress Handling certification
