Job Description
Are you passionate about animals and interested in building a career in veterinary medicine? We're looking for a caring, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our team! As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our veterinarians and veterinary team while helping us provide excellent care to our patients and a positive experience for their owners. Your day will include hands-on animal care, assisting with appointments and procedures, keeping the hospital clean and organized, and helping wherever needed to keep things running smoothly. Experience is helpful, but it isn't everything. We're happy to provide on-the-job training to someone who is eager to learn, works hard, and genuinely cares about animals. Whether you're looking to get your start in veterinary medicine or continue developing your skills, there are plenty of opportunities to learn and grow with our team. What You'll Do Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures, including safely restraining patients and assisting with medication administration. Help provide everyday care for our patients, including feeding, walking, bathing, and monitoring their comfort. Keep the hospital clean, organized, and ready for patients and clients, including maintaining outside areas. Accurately document patient treatments, medications, medical histories, and other important information. Communicate professionally and compassionately with pet owners regarding their pets and treatment plans. Observe patients for changes in behavior or health and promptly communicate any concerns to the veterinary team. Assist with front desk responsibilities when needed, including greeting clients, answering phones, and maintaining records. What We're Looking For Previous veterinary experience or knowledge of basic veterinary practices is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both clients and coworkers. A willingness to learn, take direction, and develop new skills. A genuine commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to animals. The ability to stay organized, attentive, and productive in a busy, fast-paced environment.
