Busy small animal hospital seeking a veterinary assistant who can be an asset to our hospital and wants to be part of a team. Candidate must be a detail-orientated individual with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and compassion for both people and animals. Duties include but are not limited to assisting veterinarians/technicians in all aspects of patient care; including restraint and animal husbandry, as well as housekeeping of hospital. Saturdays required and must be able to lift 50 pounds. Full-time work week is approximately 30-40 hours. Full job description Handling animals during examinations, treatments, and vaccinations Assisting technicians with prepping animals for surgery Recording relevant information about animals, including weight and types of medication given Sterilizing equipment and regularly cleaning examination and kennel areas Restocking treatment and exam rooms Qualifications Previous kennel or veterinary clinic experience is a plus Strong communication skills for front desk interactions and client relations
