Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Sunnyside Veterinary Clinic. In this vital role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing exceptional animal care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and delivering outstanding client service. Duties Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Prepare animals for surgery, including cleaning, positioning, and aseptic technique application Administer medications, perform IV insertions, catheterizations, and support critical care treatments as directed by veterinarians Maintain accurate record keeping of patient histories, treatments, and medication administration Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and cleaning kennels or treatment areas Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs Support clinic operations at the front desk by scheduling appointments, managing client records, and answering inquiries Requirements Veterinary clinic experience demonstrating familiarity with animal handling and care procedures Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior Experience with surgical assistance including aseptic techniques and animal restraint during procedures Ability to perform medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and other technical skills required in veterinary practice Excellent client communication skills to provide compassionate pet care guidance and education Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in record keeping Join us if you're committed to advancing animal health through compassionate care!
