Job Description
IMMEDIATE OPENING
Arrowhead Veterinary Clinic has been proudly serving the Dewey, OK community since 1981. Our mission is to empower pet parents in their pet's healthcare journey, providing exceptional care for every animal that comes through our doors. Position Details We have an immediate opening for a Veterinary Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time position with rotating responsibilities over the weekends and holidays. Your main duties will involve assisting the veterinary team during exams and treatments, caring for boarding pets, and supporting day-to-day clinic operations. Schedule- Tuesday to Friday availability. As well as Friday to Monday
- 7:15 AM
- 5:30 PM (or until the last client leaves and all duties are completed)
Additional Shifts :
During holidays, extra hours may be required to care for boarding pets (morning and afternoon feedings, medication administration, and walks). The schedule will rotate with other assistants.Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians and fellow assistants during exams and procedures Care for boarding animals, including feeding, walking, and medicating Manage appointments and workflows for designated appointments, ensuring smooth clinic operations Become the expert on flea, tick, and intestinal parasites, providing client education and product recommendations Maintain cleanliness of the clinic, including kennels and exam rooms Monitor and record patient behavior and health Prepare animals for treatment and surgery Help with client communication and education as neededQualifications :
Pay is based Experience Compassionate and patient demeanor towards animals and owners Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and workflows efficiently in a fast-paced environment Computer skills and typing Basic math skills are required (you will be asked to complete a short math skills test during the application process) Experience is preferred but not required. We offer comprehensive training over a 1-month period.
