Responsibilities Maintain clean and sanitary kennel environments through regular cleaning, disinfecting, and organization of animal spaces Assist with animal handling, restraint, and behavior management to ensure safety during examinations and treatments Support veterinary staff with procedures such as medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and aseptic techniques Help with record keeping by accurately documenting treatments, medications, and patient information in medical records Provide pet care including feeding, walking, grooming, and monitoring for signs of distress or illness Assist with laboratory tasks such as sample collection or basic testing under supervision Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, behavioral concerns, or post-treatment guidelines Support surgical preparation and post-operative recovery by monitoring animals and maintaining sterile environments Qualifications Previous kennel or animal handling experience preferred; veterinary technician or assistant experience highly desirable Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior Experience with dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and pet care routines Familiarity with veterinary clinic procedures including medication administration and record keeping Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently while adhering to safety protocols using personal protective equipment (PPE) Strong communication skills to interact confidently with clients and team members Basic laboratory skills or experience in veterinary critical care is a plus Willingness to learn new skills related to animal husbandry and veterinary practices This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal welfare who want to grow their career in a supportive veterinary environment.
