Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Kennel/Vet Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and support. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work closely with animals, veterinary professionals, and pet owners, ensuring every furry friend receives compassionate treatment in a clean, safe, and nurturing environment. Whether assisting in animal husbandry, managing kennel duties, or supporting veterinary procedures, you'll play a key role in promoting animal health and well-being every day. Duties Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, cages, and treatment areas to ensure a hygienic environment for all animals Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures using proper techniques Administer medications and vaccinations accurately following veterinary instructions and aseptic techniques Support animal handling during intake, discharge, or transfer processes with gentle care and proper restraint methods Provide pet care services including feeding, grooming, walking (for canine patients), and monitoring behavior or health status Assist with laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and record keeping to support diagnostic testing Support front desk activities by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating effectively with pet owners Experience Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background demonstrating comfort working with various species and breeds Veterinary technician experience or veterinary clinic experience preferred; familiarity with veterinary terminology is a plus Hands-on experience with animal restraint techniques, medication administration, and basic laboratory procedures Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices to ensure safe handling and treatment of animals Experience working with dogs in handling or dog handling skills to manage different temperaments effectively Familiarity with aseptic techniques for infection control during procedures or sample collection Strong understanding of veterinary critical care practices is advantageous for supporting urgent or intensive treatments Join us to make a difference in the lives of animals while advancing your career in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
