Join Our Compassionate Team at Citypaws Emergency Care! At City Paws Emergency Care, Our focus is providing compassionate, affordable high quality care with reasonable hours and a healthy work environment. We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate Veterinary assistant to join our team and help us make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners. As a veterinary assistant you will help provide exceptional care to our patients while supporting our ER veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff to provide fast, accurate, and compassionate care. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures and exams.
  • Prepare and monitor patients for surgery or emergency treatments.
  • Collect and process diagnostic samples (blood, urine, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation.
  • Provide comfort and care to hospitalized animals.
  • Sterilize equipment and assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Communicate with pet owners about their pets' care and status.
  • Support front-desk staff as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 2 years experience in a veterinary clinic
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature with a love for animals.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; veterinary assistant certification a plus.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • - Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks required in a veterinary ER setting. Why Join Us?

$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
