Job Description

We are a fast paced large and small veterinary hospital looking for a full time veterinary assistant with a minimum of 2 years experience to join our team! We strive to provide State of the art care to our patients, and to help us do so, you'll be able to work with updated equipment such as digital xray, and a full, in-house Idexx lab. The individual must be self-motivated and dependable. Some weekends and holiday hours will be required on a rotating basis. Please include professional references. Pay is dependent on experience. This is a full-time position! Under the immediate supervision of a licensed veterinarian or a registered veterinary technician, applicants must be proficient in duties including but not limited to: Assisting our veterinarians in all aspects of patient care Carry out written and verbal orders Obtain lab samples: blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc Complete tests on our in-house lab equipment Analyze fecal flotations and ear cytologies Setting up exam rooms, treatment area, operating room, etc Obtaining patient vitals and medical histories Use/understand medical terminology Presenting treatment plans to clients and maintaining complete medical records Placing/maintaining indwelling IV catheters
