Job Description

Creekside Veterinary Clinic in Keizer, Oregon is a fast paced 4 doctor general practice caring for dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, rodents, birds, reptiles, and most other small exotic pets. We are a busy practice dedicated to providing excellent patient care and client service. Our team of amazing people listen to each other, care and value each other's individuality. We are looking for reliable veterinary assistant(s) with a passion for veterinary medicine. You should have an aptitude for technology, willingness to learn new things, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage stressful situations, ability to maintain focus and be productive in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.
Skills Required:
Ability to take detailed history Knowledge of vaccines protocols Animal Restraint - dogs and cats (exotics preferred but can be taught) Venipuncture- preferred Assisting with x-rays (can be enrolled in radiation safety course if hired) Ability to follow directions Duties include the following and more: Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care Comforting and restraining patients Administering medications Filling prescriptions Collecting lab specimens Taking x-ray images Monitoring anesthesia Cleaning and sterilizing equipment and facility Answering multi-line phones Following established clinic protocols and procedures Maintaining computerized medical records Our clinic is open Monday-Saturday. Employees are set up on a predictable schedule, although some flexibility is required at times. Saturday shifts are on a rotation and required.
Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
