Job Description
Veterinary Assistant
This position will be an assistant for either the Neurology Department. What Your Role Will Include As a Veterinary Nursing Assistant, you will: Assist the veterinary team with patient handling, restraint, and transport throughout the hospital Help prepare treatment areas and equipment for incoming patients Prepare appointments for doctors of the Neurology department Support technicians and veterinarians during procedures, diagnostics, and treatments Assist with patient care including walking, cleaning, feeding, and comfort monitoring for hospitalized patients Help prepare patients for procedures including positioning, clipping, and basic preparation tasks Maintain clean and organized treatment areas to support efficient workflow Restock medical supplies and ensure treatment spaces remain prepared for incoming patients Assist with basic laboratory sample handling and transport within the hospital Assist during emergencies by supporting technicians and veterinarians as needed Maintain accurate documentation in the hospital information system (EzyVet) as directed by the medical team Support patient comfort, safety, and compassionate care during hospitalization What We're Looking For 1-2 Year of general practice experience, shelter medicine or equivalent role Ability to remain calm and focused in high-acuity situations Strong teamwork and communication skills Willingness to learn and grow in a highly specialized department
