Veterinary Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with medical procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and possess relevant experience in a veterinary setting. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during treatments Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian Provide basic grooming and bathing for animals as needed Maintain cleanliness of the clinic, including examination rooms and kennels Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and treatment plans Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures Monitor animal behavior and vital signs during examinations or recovery periods Prepare laboratory samples for testing and assist with laboratory procedures Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments and managing client inquiries Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is mandatory Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry practices Familiarity with medication administration and aseptic techniques Experience in animal handling, including dog handling as well as exotics and pocket pets Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members A background in veterinary technician or critical care experience is advantageous Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary practices and procedures Join our team of passionate professionals committed to providing exceptional care for animals.
