Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our animal care team. The ideal candidate will provide top-notch support to our veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality medical care to our patients. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with clients and animals. This involves rooming appointments, helping keep the clinic clean, and performing animal husbandry duties.
Duties include:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with medical procedures, including animal restraint
- Provide a safe and comfortable environment for animals during visits and procedures.
- Perform routine tasks such as pet sitting, animal grooming, and administering medications.
- Administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian
- Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the clinic.
- Participate in animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining the health and well-being of animals.
- Assist with dog handling and pet grooming tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment.
- Communicate with pet owners to provide them with updates on their pets' health and treatment plans.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in animal husbandry is preferred.
- Ability to perform aseptic technique and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with veterinarians, technicians, and pet owners.
- A genuine passion for working with animals and delivering exceptional care.
Pay:
$15.00- $17.
