From $17.00 per hour Pet Care Attendant / Veterinary Receptionist - Self-Service Dog Wash Part-Time | Animal Care | Front Desk | Pet Wash | Veterinary Clinic About Us At TLC Animal Hospital - Woonsocket location, we are committed to providing tender, loving care to pets and their families. We are looking for a dependable, friendly, and organized Pet Care Attendant / Veterinary Receptionist to help oversee the basic daily operation of our facility and our growing self-service dog and pet wash area. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys animals, customer service, and a relaxed pet-care environment but does not necessarily have professional grooming or veterinary experience. Veterinary, kennel, grooming, or animal-care experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person. Job Summary The primary responsibilities of this position are to open the facility, greet customers, oversee the self-service pet wash area, collect and track payments, maintain cleanliness, check emails, answer phone calls, and update the clinic schedule. Pet owners will wash and handle their own pets in the self-service grooming area. This position does not require the employee to professionally groom animals. A veterinarian may occasionally be present at the clinic, so basic veterinary or animal-care knowledge is a plus, but medical experience is not required. Responsibilities Open and prepare the veterinary clinic and pet wash area for the day. Greet customers and provide friendly, professional customer service. Check customers in for the self-service dog and pet wash. Explain how to use the self-service pet wash equipment and supplies. Assist customers with basic questions about the facility. Collect cash, credit card, and other payments. Accurately track daily sales, payments, and customer transactions. Check clinic email and handle or forward basic messages. Answer incoming phone calls, messages, and faxes. Schedule appointments and add information to the clinic calendar. Perform simple front-desk and administrative duties. Maintain customer and service records. Keep the reception area, pet wash area, and common areas clean and organized. Clean and disinfect pet wash stations between customers. Sweep, mop, wipe down surfaces, empty trash, and perform light cleaning. Wash or organize towels and basic pet-wash supplies as needed. Restock shampoo, towels, cleaning supplies, and other products. Monitor inventory and report low supplies to management. Maintain an organized and welcoming environment. Follow proper cleaning, sanitation, and animal-safety procedures. Notify management or the veterinarian if a pet appears sick, injured, highly stressed, or unsafe - coordinate with our vet clinics in North Attleboro and New Bedford if necessary Assist veterinary staff with simple non-medical tasks if/when needed. Secure and close the facility when scheduled. This Is NOT a Professional Groomer Position Professional grooming experience is not required . Customers using our self-service pet wash will generally wash and handle their own pets. Your main responsibility is to help keep the business running smoothly by providing: Customer service Front-desk assistance Basic scheduling Email and phone support Payment collection Cleaning and sanitation Self-service pet wash assistance Basic animal-care support Qualifications Reliable and dependable.
