River Oak Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced, compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. We are a three-doctor small animal practice focused on excellent medicine, personalized client care, and a strong team culture. We are looking for someone who is dependable, takes pride in excellent patient care, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. What You'll Do Assist veterinarians and technicians with appointments, diagnostics, treatments, surgery, and dentistry Safely and compassionately handle and restrain dogs and cats Assist with sample collection, laboratory testing, radiographs, and patient treatments Prepare patients and treatment areas for procedures Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including patient preparation and recovery Provide attentive care and monitoring for hospitalized and recovering patients Maintain accurate medical records and help support efficient patient flow Clean and maintain treatment, surgical, dental, and patient-care areas Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members What We're Looking For Previous veterinary assistant - small animal hospital experience Strong animal handling and restraint skills Understanding of veterinary terminology and basic clinical procedures Dependable, organized, and able to prioritize in a busy clinical environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Willingness to learn, grow, and take initiative A genuine commitment to excellent patient care Why River Oak?
