Who This Role Is For This position is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant who: Is confident supporting anesthesia and surgery Enjoys client education and communication Thrives in a fast-paced small animal practice Wants to continue building technical skills Is interested in long-term career growth High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 2 years of veterinary clinical experience Strong working knowledge of small animal medicine Proficiency in veterinary software (AVImark, Cornerstone, or similar) Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to lift and restrain patients safely Strong attention to detail and medical math accuracy Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT) Veterinary Assistant certification (CVA) Experience in dentistry, radiology, or surgical monitoring Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures Prepare patients for surgery and support anesthesia induction and monitoring Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection Conduct in-house laboratory testing (CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, cytology) Assist with radiographs and diagnostic imaging Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively Accurately calculate medication dosages and prepare prescriptions Maintain surgical suite sterility and clinic cleanliness Obtain and document thorough medical histories Educate clients on preventive care, vaccines, medications, and post-operative instructions Provide compassionate communication during both routine and difficult visits Support follow-up communication and appointment coordination Maintain detailed and compliant medical records Support inventory management and medication tracking Process transactions and assist with billing as needed Contribute to workflow efficiency and clinic organization Why Join Flatt Veterinary Clinic?
