Veterinary Assistant Bluegrass Veterinary Hospital is looking for a veterinary assistant to join our awesome, patient-focused, fun, progressive veterinary team. Essential duties and responsibilities:

Gentle and compassionate care for patients Restrain patients for procedures performed by doctors and technicians Maintain a professional, cheerful, and helpful attitude Stocking hospital supplies Client education Assisting Client Service Representatives General cleaning of public and employee areas of the hospital Housekeeping and laundry duties Keeping patients and cages clean Intake and discharge patients Ability to work patiently with clients in varying emotional states Observation of signs of illness and recognize abnormal conditions Carry out oral and written directions from doctors and technicians Possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills Able to multi-task

Qualifications:

High School diploma or G.E.D. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to stand for extended periods Able to lift unassisted up to 40lbs Compensation depends on experience and skill set. While we are primarily seeking someone for full-time hours, we'd consider part-time hours for the right applicant.
