• 2:00 PM Position Overview The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for a variety of supporting tasks within the veterinary practice.

Assistants should have completed or be in the process of completing their veterinary assistant certification and must pursue significant on-the-job training as they are utilized to maximize their capabilities and complement the roles of the Veterinary Technicians. You'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our patients, supporting both clinical and administrative workflows while contributing to a positive client experience. Key Responsibilities Assisting veterinarians and technicians with patient care including appointments, supportive care, and diagnostics Assist with restraining, handling, and lifting animals Obtain comprehensive patient histories and maintain accurate medical records Perform routine in-house lab work, radiographs, and assist with diagnostics Prepare, calculate, and administer medications and vaccines as directed Support surgeries and procedures and prepare patients for treatment Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing and comfort care Communicate with clients regarding patient care, discharge instructions, and education Maintain cleanliness, sterilization, and organization of hospital areas Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining inventory Support reception, kennel, and treatment areas as needed Help maintain efficient patient flow and collaborate with the medical team

Education and Experience Required:

High school graduate or equivalent

Preferred:
