Full-Time About Us Beesley Animal Clinic provides low cost spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and limited Wellness Services to all of Middle Tennessee. In 2025 we performed over 2,800 spay/neuter surgeries and gave over 21,000 vaccinations. Position Overview The Veterinary Assistant supports our veterinarians and other veterinary assistants in delivering compassionate medical care. In this mission-driven role, you will help with animal handling, vaccinations, checking in and out of surgery patients, responding to text messages, phone calls, and emails. At times surgical prep, patient monitoring, and facility sanitation. Because we are a non-profit, this role requires a high degree of adaptability, empathy, and a strong commitment to animal welfare. We do not see sick or injured animals, perform dentals, x-rays, or any other surgeries other than spaying or neutering.
Clinical & Patient Care Animal Handling:
Safely and humanely restrain animals for examinations, vaccinations, and blood draws.
Treatments:
Administer vaccinations and routine treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Diagnostics:
Assist with collecting and processing Heartworm/Felv/FIV Combo test (fecal floats, ear cytology).
Surgical Assistance:
Prep surgical sites, assist in monitoring anesthesia, and recover patients post-surgery.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
1-2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic, shelter, or animal care facility.
Animal Handling:
Proficiency in safely handling dogs and cats of varying temperaments.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift at least 40 pounds.
Compassion & Adaptability:
A deep commitment to animal welfare and the ability to remain calm and empathetic in a fast-paced environment.

Starting at $16 per hour.
