Full Time Veterinary Technician Assistant-ENTRY LEVEL

Animal Medical Professionals is a four-doctor small animal veterinary hospital just 20 minutes from Chattanooga, Tennessee. We have great clients and strive to make every day enjoyable, all while getting to work with amazing animals. Our Technician Assistant position is full time (35-40hr/wk) with a variety of responsibilities including animal restraint, animal husbandry, assisting Veterinarians and technicians, assisting with room flow, assisting surgery technician and other technical tasks. This role is an entry level position where we hope to see tremendous initiative and growth towards becoming a technician after learning this role to the fullest. Physical Requirements:

Veterinary Tech Assistants at our practice must meet the following physical requirements to perform essential job functions: 1.

Stamina:

Stand, walk, and remain on feet for the majority of 10-hour shifts. Move frequently between exam rooms, treatment areas, and other parts of our large facility. 2.

Flexibility and Movement:

Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach to handle animals, access equipment, and complete tasks. Assist with positioning and restraint of animals during procedures, requiring repetitive motion and varying postures. 3.

Strength:

Lift and carry animals weighing up to 50 pounds independently. Assist with lifting and restraining animals over 50 pounds with team support. Move and manipulate heavy equipment or supplies as needed. 4.

Dexterity:

Perform precise tasks requiring hand-eye coordination, including administering injections, drawing blood, and operating medical equipment. 5.

Environmental Factors:

Work in a fast-paced, noisy environment with frequent interruptions. Handle exposure to animal dander, fur, bodily fluids, and cleaning chemicals. Respond quickly and effectively to unpredictable animal behaviors. 6.

Vision and Hearing:

Maintain good visual acuity for reading charts, observing animal conditions, and working with medical instruments. Hear and respond to communications, including verbal instructions and animal vocalizations.
