Veterinary Assistant

Patriot Animal Hospital is a family-owned and operated small animal veterinary practice in Georgetown, Texas with absolutely no corporate ownership or interest in the practice. At Patriot Animal Hospital we focus all of our attention and resources on providing the highest quality veterinary care exclusively to dogs and cats. No boarding, grooming or training as an additional service is offered at out practice. We are looking for compassionate, friendly and skilled professionals who want to make a positive impact on the families in the community. We are currently seeking a veterinary assistant who has a passion for helping animals and enjoys being part of a productive team. The veterinary assistant plays a critical role in supporting the veterinarians and the technical support staff in providing patient care.

Duties:

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with examinations and treatments
• Help collect laboratory samples for testing
• Assist the veterinarian or technician in taking X-rays
• Ensure the clinic is sanitized, organized and medical supplies are properly stocked
• Care for patients as directed by the veterinarian or veterinary technician

Requirements:

• Experience in pet care, veterinary medicine, and/or animal behavior
• Strong work ethic and history of reliability
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle animals with care and compassion, including proper restraint techniques
