Veterinary Assistant Ella Veterinary Clinic Houston, TX Job Details Full-time $17 - $22 an hour 6 days ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Uniform allowance Vision insurance 401(k) matching Employee discount Qualifications Pet care Teamwork Attention to detail Dog handling Stocking Full Job Description Veterinary Assistant Reports To Veterinarian, Lead LVT, and/or Practice Manager Status Full-time, Nonexempt Schedule ~40 hrs/week, including some Saturday coverage as needed Position Summary Supports patient care, treatment flow, and daily hospital operations by assisting with patient handling, room turnover, treatment preparation, stocking, cleaning, and general clinical support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with safe canine and feline restraint and handling
  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and supplies for daily use
  • Support veterinarians and technicians during appointments and treatments
  • Assist with sample-collection support, treatment setup, and basic patient-care tasks as directed
  • Help with anesthesia and dentistry preparation as trained and assigned
  • Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms, treatment areas, and clinical supplies
  • Assist with patient intake, discharge, and general hospital support duties Qualifications
  • Prior veterinary assistant experience preferred
  • Comfortable handling dogs and cats safely and confidently
  • Team-oriented, coachable, dependable, and detail-oriented
  • Willingness to support both clinical and housekeeping tasks
  • Interest in learning and growing within a veterinary setting Physical / Work Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and move throughout the hospital for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, restrain, and assist with animals of varying sizes, with assistance when appropriate

Pay:
