The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the ability to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to a variety of animals. This role involves both clinical and administrative duties, ensuring that our furry patients receive the best possible care while supporting the veterinary staff in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Provide care for animals housed/visiting the Hospital. Report signs of illness, injury or unusual activity to technicians/veterinarians. Ensure that cages and animals are properly numbered and identified and that personal property are stored in the proper area and identified. Clean, disinfect and maintain kennels, cages and runs as often as is necessary to ensure kennels are clean. Perform general cleaning in other areas of the hospital to control the spread of disease. Record information such as feeding, appearance, behavior of animals that are boarded. Walk boarded dogs several times a day to provide exercise. Bathe, express anal glands, clean ears and trim nails. Ensure that animals are clean and fresh smelling. Work well with all employees and ensure that your actions support the hospital mission. Perform other duties as assigned. Handle animals as required and restrain animals. Obtain stool and urine samples as assigned Qualifications Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and general animal husbandry practices. Experience with dog handling, animal restraint techniques, medication administration. Strong understanding of animal behavior and welfare principles to ensure humane treatment at all times. Ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions or behavioral concerns. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail while maintaining compassion for animals. Willingness to use PPE appropriately and adhere to safety protocols at all times. Pay:
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
