Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and Technician, where your passion for animal care and veterinary medicine will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their owners. You will assist with animal handling, medical procedures, client communication, and clinic operations, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and client service. Duties Provide expert animal handling and restraint during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures to ensure safety for animals and staff. Assist veterinarians with medical tasks such as medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and wound care while adhering to strict veterinary terminology and protocols. Support surgical procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile fields, and monitoring anesthesia under supervision. Maintain accurate record keeping of patient histories, treatment plans, medication logs, and procedure documentation to ensure compliance and continuity of care. Perform animal husbandry duties including feeding, cleaning kennels or cages, grooming, and ensuring proper animal welfare standards are met daily. Manage front desk responsibilities such as client communication, appointment scheduling, answering inquiries, and providing pet care advice with professionalism and empathy. Uphold strict safety standards by using personal protective equipment (PPE), maintaining cleanliness through thorough cleaning routines, and following all animal restraint guidelines. Requirements Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience demonstrating familiarity with animal handling and husbandry practices. Experience working with animals in critical care settings or performing veterinary technician duties is highly desirable. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior to support clinical tasks effectively. Ability to handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, equines (horses), and other small animals with confidence and compassion. Skilled in record keeping, medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization techniques, and client communication. Strong understanding of animal welfare principles combined with excellent attention to detail for record accuracy. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires teamwork, adaptability, and adherence to safety protocols including PPE use.
