In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians by handling animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for both pets and staff. Your enthusiasm for animal welfare and strong communication skills will help create a positive experience for pet owners and their beloved animals. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your veterinary skills while making a meaningful difference in animal health and well-being. Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint, handling, and behavior management to ensure safety during examinations and procedures Support veterinarian with tasks such as IV insertion, medication administration, catheterization, and other medical treatments Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning, sanitation, and animal husbandry duties in kennels, treatment areas, and surgical suites Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic procedures by grooming, positioning, and providing necessary supplies Record detailed medical information including patient histories, treatment notes, and medication logs using veterinary terminology Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs Support front desk operations by managing appointments, updating records, and assisting clients with inquiries about pet health and services Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety standards for staff and animals during all procedures Experience Minimum of 1 year previous kennel experience or hands-on animal handling background required. Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior is beneficial Familiarity with Cornerstone is a plus Ability to handle dogs safely and confidently in various situations including during restraint or transport
