Veterinary Receptionist - Tech Assistant - Boarding Assistant

Pet Medical Center of San Antonio is looking for someone to work the front desk, assist our technicians when needed, and serving as secondary boarding attendant when needed. What You'll Do:

Primary position as Veterinary Receptionist , you'll play a crucial role in both front desk operations and marketing, ensuring a positive experience for every client and their pet.

Your responsibilities will include:

Warmly greeting visitors and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms. Answering telephones, making outbound calls for follow-ups, and reaching out to prospective clients. Efficiently scheduling and confirming hundreds of veterinary appointments (by phone and in-person). Presenting and explaining fees, and accurately processing payments. Answering questions and educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (e.g., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, flea & tick control), and recommending products and services. Managing medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence with precision. Being the front line for presenting Pet Medical Center's positive image, helping pet owners understand the multitude of benefits we offer. Maintaining a neat and clean facility at all times, both inside and outside, including removal of animal waste. Secondary position as Technician Assistant , you'll assist the veterinarian and technicians: animal restraint administering vaccination and medications drawing blood performing test procedures, like fecal exams and bloodwork Cleaning of cages and the facility Secondary position as Boarding Attendant your responsibilities include: Checking in and out patients from the boarding facility Administering medications Monitoring the wellness of patients while boarding shifts required assisting with boarding animals during the week, and on some Saturdays and Sundays and holidays Job Hours This position offers a structured work week with some flexibility. Our regular operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM , and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM . You'll be required to work 3 Saturdays per month . You will be required to work some weekends in boarding (morning and afternoon shifts on Saturday and Sunday)

What You Bring:

Required:

A minimum of one year of experience in an actual veterinary hospital or clinic. (Your resume must clearly reflect this experience.)

Essential Skills:

Above-average communication skills and basic computer proficiency.

Technician Skills:

animal restraint, giving injections and medications, drawing blood
