Southwest Texas Veterinary Medical Center Southwest Texas Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a dependable and motivated Animal Care Attendant to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment while supporting our veterinary staff in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide daily care for animals,including feeding, watering, and monitoring overall well-being

Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and hospital facilities through thorough and consistent cleaning protocols

Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians as needed, including stepping into a Veterinary Assistant role when required

Safely handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments

Launder bedding, sanitize equipment, and restock supplies

Communicate clearly and effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations

Relay important information about animal health, behavior, and care to veterinary staff and management

Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Flexible and willing to assist in multiple areas of the hospital

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Professional and respectful communication with management, coworkers, and clients

Comfortable working with animals and handling physical tasks (lifting, standing, bending)

Preferred Skills:

Previous experience in animal care or a veterinary setting is a plus

Basic knowledge of animal behavior and handling
