Job Description

We are seeking a veterinary assistant (experience is preferable) for our growing clinic. This is a great position for someone with experience in the veterinary industry. We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to grow in their career and with our clinic. The individual will need to be capable of excelling in busy environments and have a great attitude. You must be able to stay busy, multitask, and stay focussed. The position will be full time, 3 days a week as a veterinary assistant, and 1 day a week at reception and every other or every third Sat at reception 8-12. (flexible) Starting Wage is $15-$17, however this is flexible depending on experience. Days of the week for the schedule:
Veterinary Assistant:
Every Mon, Tues and Friday. There will be opportunities to pick up additional hours when other staff is on vacation.
Reception:
Every Thursday and every other or every third Sat, 8-12. (this is flexible) Full time employees qualify fro health benefits after 60 days of employment, PTO and 401K with employer match after 1 year of employment. Duties for Vet Assistant will include: (Can be trained if unexperienced, however experienced is preferred) Prepping for surgery and procedures Going into exam rooms the Veterinarian Assist with blood draws Radiology Anesthesia Monitoring Physical examinations and patient assesment Dentistry Laboratory Work Pharmacy/Prescriptions Patient Recovery Cleaning and sanitizing surgery room, treatment/hospitalized area, patient rooms, lab area, and isolation room on daily basis Showing compassion to clients and their pets. Paying close attention to patient care. Being able to physically restrain/properly hold a patient while the doctor administers vaccines or treatment. Duties for
Reception Include:
Answering Phones, scheduling appointments. Attention to detail is a must Filing, pulling charts, prepping paperwork Responding to client messages and emails Communicating with Dr, O'Hara and vet assistants regarding patient questions, needs and concerns. Collecting payments from clients, placing clients and patients in rooms, etc. The individual will need to be a quick learner and pay attention to detail. We are looking to invest our time in the right long term fit. They will need to be capable of taking responsibility to execute duties and lead by example with a solid work ethic, integrity, honesty, and dedication.
Job Types:
Full Time; 33 hours when not working Sat AM shift, 37 hours on the alternating week when working Sat AM shift. Average weekly hours= 35 hours per week per pay period.
Vet Assistant:
$15+, depending on experience
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
