Full Job Description Job Summary:
Experienced Veterinary Assistant We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is confident in patient handling, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to providing exceptional patient care and client service. We are looking for someone who can work efficiently alongside our veterinarians and technicians while maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures. Safely restrain and handle patients of all sizes and temperaments. Prepare patients for surgery, monitor recovery, and provide post-operative care. Collect laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostic testing. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Obtain accurate patient histories and record medical information. Maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment to the highest standards of cleanliness. Educate clients on medications, preventive care, nutrition, and discharge instructions. Support the veterinary team to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient care. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a small animal practice required. Strong knowledge of animal restraint, husbandry, and patient care. Experience assisting with surgery, anesthesia preparation, radiology, laboratory procedures, and pharmacy duties preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, dependable, and a team player with a positive attitude.
