Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Assistant/ Receptionist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring a smooth operation within the veterinary clinic. You will play a crucial role in managing appointments, handling inquiries, and supporting our veterinary staff in delivering high-quality care to pets. Responsibilities Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Answer phone calls and respond to client inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care. Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed. Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail. Assist veterinary technicians with patient intake and preparation for examinations. Provide information to clients about medication administration, pet care practices, and follow-up instructions. Ensure the hospital is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Collaborate with the veterinary team to enhance client experience and animal welfare. Skills Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with clients and staff. Experience in animal husbandry and pet care practices is highly desirable. Ability to handle animals safely using proper animal restraint techniques. Familiarity with medication administration protocols for pets. Proficient in cat and dog handling skills to assist during appointments or procedures. Experience working in a kennel or similar environment is beneficial. Basic laboratory skills for assisting with diagnostic tests may be required. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
