Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and patient safety Handle animal restraint and behavior management to facilitate examinations and treatments effectively Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, and maintaining a hygienic clinic environment Administer medications, IV insertions, catheterizations, and injections following veterinary protocols Support surgical procedures by preparing instruments, assisting during operations, and monitoring anesthesia recovery Maintain accurate record keeping of patient histories, treatments, medications, and procedural notes Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to uphold safety standards for staff and animals Skills Proven kennel experience combined with veterinary technician or clinic experience to support diverse clinical needs Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and equines Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior for effective communication and care delivery Experience with critical care procedures such as medication administration and emergency response protocols Ability to perform thorough cleaning duties to maintain a sterile environment within the clinic Skilled in record keeping systems for accurate documentation of treatments and patient information Excellent client communication skills to provide compassionate pet care guidance and foster trust with pet owners This role is perfect for motivated individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are dedicated to advancing animal health.
