Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by handling a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. Your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and love for animals will help ensure our patients receive compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff Administer medications and vaccinations accurately following veterinary instructions Support animal husbandry activities such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and cleaning kennels or cages Handle laboratory tasks including sample collection, processing, and basic testing procedures Maintain detailed records of patient treatments, medication administration, and clinical notes using veterinary terminology Provide front desk support by scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and managing patient check-ins and check-outs Assist with animal catheterization, intravenous placements, and other technical procedures under supervision Ensure aseptic techniques are followed during procedures to prevent infection or contamination Support pet care routines including feeding, walking (especially for equine or larger animals), and general handling with animal physiology and behavior in mind Requirements Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience working with dogs, cats, and larger animals such as horses is a plus Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology essential for effective communication and task execution Experience in veterinary clinics or hospitals demonstrating familiarity with medical procedures and laboratory work is highly desirable Ability to handle animals safely using restraint techniques suitable for different species and temperaments Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients, team members, and vendors Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary critical care, laboratory testing, and advanced animal handling techniques Join us in delivering compassionate pet care while advancing your career in the veterinary field!
