Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant and/or Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all animals receive the highest level of care and attention. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, condos and common areas. Assist with animal restraint during veterinary examinations or procedures. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their animals and answer any questions. Assist with bathing, grooming, and administering medications to animals as needed. Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both animals and staff. Assist the doctor and technicians with hospitalized patients and appointments. Answer phone calls to aid in taking appointments and answering clients questions. Experience Previous experience in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or similar setting is preferred but not required. Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and basic veterinary care is a plus. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Ability to handle dogs of various breeds and temperaments safely. Applicant MUST be dependable. Strong communication skills. Must be physically capable of performing tasks that require lifting, bending, and being on your feet for extended periods. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
