Veterinary Emergency and Specialty of Tidewater (VEST) is a privately owned, state-of-the-art hospital. If you are looking to grow with a company that has a VEST ed interest in you, look no further! We understand that your time, expertise, and energy are an investment in the patients, clients and staff of our hospital. Therefore, we are committed to ensuring an excellent return on that investment by offering a collaborative work atmosphere, profit sharing, and optimized scheduling, among other things. Currently there are opportunities for full-time assistants. Emergency experience is preferred, however, assistants eager to expand their skill set with urgent care or high volume general practice experience are encouraged to apply. This position offers support and mentorship from board-certified criticalists. Primary responsibilities include patient restraint, client communication, performing in-house laboratory diagnostics and supporting the doctor and LVT. Our hospital is equipped with CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, a comprehensive in-house laboratory, hi-flow O2 and a separate ICU complete with Synder unit. Schedule 1PM-1AM, 3 days a week to allow for lifestyle equilibrium Set quarterly schedule to allow for long-term planning Weekend and holiday shifts required to best serve our community needs Benefits (offered based on employment status and longevity, in accordance with plan terms) Hourly pay commensurate with experience Profit sharing Medical Insurance Paid time off Child care stipend or pet insurance stipend Employee pet discount 401k Professional development assistance Uniforms provided Requirements Team oriented & dedicated to embracing our core values High level of interest in customer service and the ability to genuinely communicate with our clients, fellow team members and patients.
